Instructor asks students to share their own learning goals

  • Finally, an aspect of the Section 1 of the QOLT rubric, which I have not included thus far in my blended course, is asking students to share their own learning goals. Next semester, I will include a slide in our first VoiceThread activity (to be completed before our first day of classes) in which I will ask them to share their personal mottos (after Stacy Anderson’s idea –thanks!). Rather than asking them to share their own learning goals, a motto is a motivational phrase that not only encompasses one’s learning goals but also our core values and principles. If students don’t yet have one, this is a good opportunity for them to develop one!
